Indiana Native Jackson Laux to Present at the CMA Awards This Year
The Hoosier State has a star in the making! Nine-year-old Jackson Laux, better known as Jackson Farmer, is set to take the stage as a presenter at this year’s Country Music Association (CMA) Awards. While many TikTok stars gain fame through dance trends or beauty tutorials, Jackson has carved out his own niche with nearly 900,000 followers on his channel, Just a Jackson Thing. His content is a wholesome celebration of farm life, showcasing agricultural vehicles, toy collections, and heartfelt reflections on the joys of rural living.

Jackson’s rise to fame started unexpectedly in November 2023, when he made a cameo in a video his cousin posted. That video, for reasons only TikTok’s algorithm understands, went viral almost overnight. Jackson’s parents, Jessica and Joe Laux, who live with him in the small Northern Indiana town of South Whitley, say the decision to keep the channel going was entirely up to him. “We asked Jackson if he wanted to continue, and he said yes,” Jessica shared. “It’s been an incredible journey ever since.”
Clad in his signature jeans, farm shirt, and red trucker cap, Jackson brings a unique energy to his videos. His confident, almost grandfatherly demeanor stands in contrast to his age, captivating viewers of all generations. His fame has already led to appearances on Today, a meet-and-greet at the Indiana State Fair, and even a trip via private jet to Iowa, courtesy of Stine Seed Company. Despite the buzz, Jessica says they’re keeping things grounded. “For now, it’s all about Jackson having fun and sharing what he loves. We’re overwhelmed by the kindness and support he’s received.”
Now, Jackson is taking his love of farm life to the national stage. As a presenter at the CMA Awards, he’ll stand among country music’s brightest stars, representing his roots and spreading the joy of rural life to an even wider audience. The event, held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, promises to be a night to remember for Jackson, his family, and the entire Hoosier State.
Be sure to tune in and cheer on Indiana’s own as he makes his CMA Awards debut!
