Luke Combs, one of country music’s biggest stars, is known for his chart-topping hits and sold-out stadium tours.

But when he’s not performing, he’s fully immersed in family life.

For Combs, balancing fame and fatherhood is about prioritizing his kids’ childhood and raising them with strong values.

In a recent interview on the MeatEater podcast, Combs shared his down-to-earth routine when he’s off the road.

“My life is so normal outside of playing shows,” he explained.

At home, he’s all about family time—whether it’s songwriting with friends or caring for his two young sons, Tex and Beau.

Despite the demands of his career, Combs embraces his role as a stay-at-home dad, helping with everything from diaper changes to cooking meals.

Combs admitted that family life sometimes means passing on career opportunities.

“I want my kids’ childhood to feel as normal as it can,” he said

noting that his career could present many cool, potentially career-boosting experiences he’s had to decline for his family’s sake.

But for him, the choice is clear—being there for his children outweighs any professional gain.

He and his wife, Nicole, aim to raise their boys with humility and responsibility.

Combs emphasizes the importance of teaching them simple lessons, like cleaning up after themselves.

He also acknowledges the unique challenges of raising kids in such an extraordinary situation, especially as they get older and begin to understand their privilege.

As for the future, Combs is mindful of the potential pitfalls his kids may face, given their unique circumstances.

“We don’t want them to be a product of their circumstances in a negative way,” he explained.

It’s a careful balance between teaching gratitude and avoiding a sense of entitlement.
