Ella Langley Wins ACM Award for ‘New Female Artist of the Year’

With nine nominations at for the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards – leading all artists – it’s no surprise Ella Langley would be taking home some hardware. The rising country star was announced as the ACM’s “New Female Artist of the Year” winner Friday, in the middle of a live performance.
Langley was performing at Rock the Country festival in Knoxville, TN, and was in the middle of conversing with the crowd when her mic cut out, and all-time ACM Awards-winner Miranda Lambert appeared on the video screen behind her. Lambert greeted Langley and congratulated her on her nine nominations, before announcing that she won the “New Female Artist of the Year” award.
“Hey Ella, it’s me, I wanted to congratulate you for being the top-nominated artist at the Academy of Country Music Awards this year,” Lambert said in her video message. “You are my friend, first and foremost — you are a fellow dog-rescue advocate, a songwriter, you are my soul-sister in country music and a partner in crime. You, my friend, have won New Female Artist of the Year at the ACM Awards this year. We are gonna celebrate so big!”
Langley was visibly emotional during and after the video had played, fighting back tears and giving a quick “God bless America,” before regrouping with her band for the next song.
Later backstage, Langley was presented with the award, and spoke about what winning the award meant to her as she fought back tears:
“I’ve just prayed about this and thought about it.” Langley said. “Literally everything I’ve ever done has to been able to do this, and I’m so grateful for the team I have around me. I’m really grateful for the fans that listen to the music and see that there is truth. I’m just a real-life human being going through life like everyone else. This is, this is … thank you.”
Langley was a breakout star in 2024, most notably thanks to her hit single with Riley Green; You Look Like You Love Me. The song is tied to four of her nine ACM nominations; “Single of the Year,” “Song of the Year,” “Visual Media of the Year” and “Musical Event of the Year.” Her song had also won “Musical Event of the Year” at the 2024 Country Music Association Awards, and was nominated for “The Collaboration Song of 2024” at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards.
